Had dinner with two friends and we ordered a burger, ribs and a salad. We were all happy with our choices. The waitress was friendly and on top of things. The food was better than I expected . I'll admit my expectations are always low when it comes to dining on the Broadwalk, but Toucan's was a welcome change.
We all had beer --- my first was a Sam Adams seasonal and it was gross. Ordered a Yuengling for the second round.
Unlike a lot of the restaurants on the strip, Toucan's goes the extra mile keeping things looking fresh. The exterior is neat and orderly and the walls look like they just had a new coat of paint applied. Some (read most) of the restaurants on the Broadwalk look dirty with scuffed up walls and nasty floors.
I'll go back!
They have really fixed this place up recently. It is a beach front dive bar but a dive in a good way, with cheap drinks, gorgeous views of the ocean and Broadwalk, and very friendly bartenders.
The owner came and introduced himself and bought me a shot.
The bartender was very friendly and sweet. They have a nice little outdoor patio with tables if you are here to eat.
I have yet to try their food but I know they are famous for their Friday night fish fry. Mostly locals seem to be the main patrons, but this is the beach so it is touristy during high season.
I like the vibe here and I'm sure I'll be coming again when I am in the mood for some beacb drinking!
Fun place with cheap drinks and fun people. Food is good for a bar, try the clam chowder. Decent live music. Bartender Nancy is not only easy on the eyes, but the best bartender I have ever come across.
"Hang Where the Locals Hangout" $2 domestics // $1 Hot Dogs & Tacos on Sundays either hard or soft shell (FWIW, Chicago's famous Mamacita's is next door).
Hamburgers that are excellent & clams prepared the way I like, including a hearty Clam Chowder & a belly-filling portion of Drunken Clams. Strong props for the views & location. On the corner of Taylor & Surf & the Broadwalk - breathtaking.
It's a day & time thing when it comes to company & live music. Close enough to sample food to the north or south or even Taverna Opa to the west.
At night, one of the liveliest bars on the boardwalk - cold Jagger & beer & great bands (incl the likes of Thom Welt) - plenty of big screen TVs as well as a lively jukebox.
A good time is always had by all.
Really love the taco Tuesday special.
The clams were great and the beers are cheap.
Fat Tire, Key West ale on draft...awesome.
Great service and view is 2nd to none.
Great happy hour and owner/manager seems to always be there and runs a great beach front restaurant.
Kid friendly as well.
Great place for clams in white wine. Sit there, watching the beach go by on a sunny day. $1.00 hot dogs.
This is what Margaritas in Paradise on Hollywood Beach is all about.
Great dive bar, right on the Boardwalk. Everyone is in good spirits here, which makes for a nice atmosphere.
You can sit outside along the boardwalk or along the side of the building on a patio facing Taylor St.
Drinks are cheap and the brews are ice cold. What more can you ask for?!
